The journey into the realm of specialty coffee was anything but easy, yet Beans Depot Roastery & Café stands proudly as one of the pioneers that cultivated the specialty coffee scene in Malaysia.

From a humble 150 square feet garage to a spacious 2000 square feet 1.5-storey shop lot, the progress of Beans Depot has been a steady climb along a slow and winding road. Within this little depot, milestones abound, including the distinction of having the FIRST Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) certified coffee roaster, the FIRST Specialty Coffee Association of Japan (SCAJ) certified World Siphonist Judge, and numerous Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) certified baristas.

Collaborations with coffee champions, aficionados, and talented baristas have enriched this rocky journey, transforming it into a worthwhile adventure. A heartfelt thanks goes out to loyal supporters turned dear friends, families, suppliers, and clients for their unwavering encouragement, understanding, and support that have fueled the growth and improvement of Beans Depot. As an IT graduate who navigated the transition from the 2nd wave of coffee to the specialty coffee age in Malaysia, the journey took a turn in 2013 when joining the Beans Depot family. Achievements quickly followed with a SCAE barista certification in the subsequent year and a notable first runner-up position in the 2014 Malaysia Brewers Cup Championship. The journey reached new heights in 2015 with certifications as a SCAJ World Siphonist Judge and a National Coffee Competition Judge. The heartening journey reflects a deep-seated passion for coffee from childhood, coupled with a foundation in the fundamentals of cooking.

The pandemic brought unexpected challenges, thrusting the responsibility of food preparation onto the shoulders of the team. Undeterred, Beans Depot, under the guidance of the passionate team, embarked on rounds of research and development, unveiling signature items like the renowned roast pork dishes. With the continued support of patrons, these dishes have become a delight for pork enthusiasts, showcasing the dedication to culinary excellence.
