1. Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide directly to us:
- Account data — name, email address and password when you register. Your email must be verified before the account is activated.
- Owner & claim data — business contact details and verification information when you claim a venue or manage a listing.
- Messages — the content of messages you send to venue owners through the site, together with your name and email.
- Job applications — name, email, message and any CV/portfolio link you submit when applying for a position posted on our jobs board.
- Content you upload — photos, stories, notes, saved venues and suggestions linked to your account.
We also collect limited usage data (page views, searches performed on the site, approximate visitor statistics) to understand how the site is used. These internal statistics are aggregated and are not used to build individual profiles.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to operate the site: manage your account, verify your email, deliver your messages and job applications to the right venue owner, show owners anonymised statistics about their listing, send you service notifications, and respond to your enquiries. We do not sell your personal data.
3. When Your Data Is Shared
Messages and job applications are delivered to the owner of the venue you contact, including your name, email and the content you submit. From that point the owner processes your data as an independent controller (for example, to reply to you or evaluate your application). We do not share your personal data with other third parties except the service providers below.
4. Cookies
We use cookies to keep you logged in, to remember basic preferences, and — with your consent — for analytics. A consent banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies at any time. You can also control cookies through your browser settings.
5. Third-Party Services
The site relies on a small number of service providers: our hosting and content delivery/caching provider (which may process IP addresses to serve and protect the site), OpenStreetMap for maps, and an analytics service for aggregate traffic statistics. These providers have their own privacy policies and process data on our behalf or as separate controllers.
6. Data Retention
Account data is kept while your account is active and deleted on request. Messages and job applications remain in the owner's inbox until deleted by the owner or the sender. Job posts are automatically unpublished after their application deadline. Venue listings are editorial content and remain on the site unless the venue requests removal.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR), you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact us — we will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Security
Accounts are protected by verified email addresses and hashed passwords; forms are protected against automated abuse and rate-limited. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version; significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
