1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing Coffee Insurrection, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. If you use the site on behalf of a business (for example as a shop owner), you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for that business.
2. The Service
Coffee Insurrection is an independent guide to specialty coffee: shop and roaster profiles, city guides, editorial content, brewing resources and a jobs board for the specialty coffee community. You may browse and search the site for personal, non-commercial use. Automated scraping, bulk downloading or republishing of our content is not permitted.
3. User Accounts
Creating an account requires a valid email address, which must be verified before the account becomes active. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use. We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms, publish false information or abuse other users.
4. Shop Listings & Owner Accounts
Shop and roaster profiles are curated editorially. Owners can claim their venue through our verification process; once verified, they get access to the owner dashboard to manage their profile, photos, opening hours, menus, events, stories and job openings.
Owners are responsible for the accuracy of the information they publish, must hold the rights to any photos or media they upload, and grant Coffee Insurrection a non-exclusive licence to display that content on the site and in our marketing. We reserve the right to edit, reject or remove any listing content that is inaccurate, inappropriate or infringing.
5. Ratings & Editorial Independence
The CI Rating and all editorial assessments are assigned independently by our team. Ratings cannot be bought, and paid visibility features never influence how a venue is rated or reviewed.
6. Jobs Board
Verified shop owners may post job openings for their venue. Job posts are reviewed by our team before going live, must describe a genuine position at the venue, and must comply with applicable labour and anti-discrimination laws. We may edit, reject or remove any job post, and expired openings are removed automatically after their application deadline.
When you apply for a job, the information you submit (name, email, message and any link you include) is delivered directly to the venue's owner, who is solely responsible for handling your application. Coffee Insurrection is not the employer, is not a party to any resulting employment relationship, and does not guarantee a response from the venue.
7. Messaging & User Content
Logged-in visitors can save venues, write personal notes, and contact venue owners through the site's messaging system. Messages and applications must be genuine and respectful: spam, harassment, advertising and automated messaging are prohibited and rate limits apply. Content you submit (messages, photos, suggestions) must not infringe third-party rights; by submitting it you grant us a non-exclusive licence to display it where the feature requires.
8. Premium Features
Some owner features (such as featured placements) are paid. Prices and terms are shown before purchase. Paid placements are always presented as such and do not affect editorial ratings.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on Coffee Insurrection, including text, images, design, the CI Rating methodology and our databases, is owned by Coffee Insurrection or its licensors. Shop photos remain the property of their respective owners. You may share links to our pages; you may not reproduce substantial parts of the site without written permission.
10. Disclaimer & Liability
Coffee Insurrection is provided "as is". We do not guarantee the accuracy of venue information — including opening hours, prices, menus, job openings or availability — and we are not responsible for the conduct of venues, owners, applicants or other users. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim related to the use of the site is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the twelve months before the claim.
11. Changes
We may update these terms at any time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use of the site constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
