About RAW Coffee Company
In 2007 Kim Thompson started roasting specialty coffee in Dubai simply because she couldn’t find the quality she loved. Fellow New Zealander Matt Toogood soon joined her. Together they built the Middle East’s first specialty coffee roastery.
Today RAW still operates from its big working warehouse-café in Al Quoz: 13,500 sq ft of roasting, SCA training, retail beans and a relaxed café. Everything is 100% direct-trade, organic-certified Arabica, roasted on site. Many of Dubai’s independent cafés buy from them or trained here.
A true pioneer that quietly shaped the city’s specialty scene and still keeps it raw.
